The Springfield BMW RoadRiders was formed in 1971. It was chartered club #8 with a fledgling national organization, the BMW Motorcycle Owners of America, Inc. (BMW MOA). The membership had a significant impact on the National organization with one of our original members serving on the first board of directors, and then later a member was the second president of the National board. There are now approx. 180 chartered clubs and BMW MOA boasts a membership of nearly 40,000.
The Springfield club's first local rally was called The Ozarks Hillbilly BMW Rally & Tour. It was held in June 1973 at Shadow Rock Park, Forsythe, MO. The club's annual rally is now called the Missouri State BMW Rally and is held the 3rd weekend in June at the Crane City Park, Crane, MO.
Springfield BMW RoadRiders was incorporated as a not for profit corporation 4/17/1975.
Our Club is dedicated to serving our community by safety first for motorcyclists and promoting motorist awareness of motorcycles. Our members enjoy all the perks of our club and we encourage guests regardless of what type of motorcycle you ride.
All are welcome!
